EMX Process to Progress - Phases 1, 2, and 3 of Our Training Process.

EMX believes in a structured, strategic approach to achieving long-term results. Whether you're starting fresh with a new goal or refining your current progress, our process is designed to build lasting strength, mobility, and confidence—one phase at a time.  Each phase builds on the last, creating a seamless path toward sustainable habits and the ultimate goal: living life without limitations.


Phase 1: Start


Starting something new, especially in the gym, can feel intimidating. But once you take that first step by showing up, the hardest part is already behind you. In Phase 1, we focus on laying down a strong foundation for safely and effectively reaching your goals.



What to Expect in Phase One:

  • Increased awareness of what muscles to engage during certain movements.

  • Possible improvements in pain or discomfort

  • Education on proper form to reduce pain and build trust in your body


This phase is all about building the foundation. Building the foundation can feel slow, but with patience, progress will come! With every new goal or habit the foundation is critical for long-term success.



Phase 2: Strength and Stability


After phase one and consistently showing up for yourself, your body and brain are beginning to shift. By Phase 2, you're not just building strength—you’re forming a lasting habit and may start to feel the benefits in and outside of the gym. In this phase, you may start to notice additional benefits like improved mood, increased focus, and more energy.



What to Expect in Phase Two:

  • The benefits from phase one will continue - exercise keeps on giving!

  • Progress in your workouts, whether by increasing reps, weight, or both. 

  • Everyday tasks may start to feel easier. 


In Phase 2, we begin to strengthen, or reinforce, the foundation built in phase one by improving stability and strengthening the muscles that support your body. In this phase, everyday movements may start to feel easier, and you might notice increased confidence in your body’s abilities.



Phase 3: Sustain


Phase Three is where the magic starts to show. You may begin to notice more progress, and don’t be surprised if others do too!

In this phase, we build on the strength and stability you’ve already developed with heavier loads, higher output, and more functional movements. Everyday tasks start to feel even easier, your body moves with greater ease, and your confidence grows.




What to Expect in Phase Three:

  • Increased stability, strength, and balance.

  • A level up in strength through functional movements that make every day tasks easier and safer.

  • A growing sense of confidence in what your body can do. 


This is also when many clients start to share their journey—because the results speak for themselves. What you’re doing is powerful. You’re showing up for yourself in an impactful way and inspiring those around you. You’re not just changing your body—you’re changing your life.


Next Step: The Goal Review

Now that you have completed the three phases of the EMX Training Process it is time to celebrate! You have achieved your goals and that is huge. The goal review is a 15-minute one-on-one conversation where we assess your progress, celebrate your accomplishments, and set new goals to keep you moving forward.  Before your goal review, take a moment to reflect—you’ve built a new healthy habit, made muscular and neurological changes, and likely hit some personal milestones along the way. When you have a clear plan and purpose, progress doesn’t stop—it just levels up.


What to Expect in The Goal Review: 

  • Celebrate your progress and goals achieved.

  • Set new goals and come up with a game plan moving forward. 

  • Expand the impact to your inner circle. 


We’ll talk about what you’re now capable of—and what you’d still love to progress in. Maybe it’s keeping up with grandkids, traveling more comfortably, or finally trying that pickleball class. Whatever it is, your EMX team is ready to help you get there.
